AndrOBD turns your phone into a car diagnostic tool. Plug an ELM327 adapter into the OBD port under your dashboard and you can read the fault codes behind a check-engine light, clear them once the problem is fixed, and watch live readings from the engine as you drive.
Live data can appear as plain numbers, charts, a dashboard of gauges, or a head-up display you prop against the windscreen. You can record a drive, save it, load it back later to study it, and export it as a CSV. There is also a demo mode with simulated data, so you can see how all of it works before buying an adapter.
You do need that adapter — any ELM327-compatible one, connecting over Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi — and a car with an OBD-II port, which means most cars sold since the early 2000s.
