About this app
Coon Gallery is a private gallery for your photos and videos. It does everything you expect — albums, editing, sharing, moving, copying and deleting, with hold-and-drag to select a run of pictures at once — and it picks up the trash and favourites you set in other apps. The built-in video player handles zoom, multi-tap seeking, picture-in-picture, playback speed, subtitles and audio tracks.
The unusual part is search. Link an album folder to a metadata file and you can search by what is actually in a picture: type "cat" and the photos with a cat in them come up. It also backs albums up over your own wi-fi to a computer, never to a cloud service.
Those two features need the companion desktop app, Coon Gallery PC, running on a computer on the same network to generate the metadata and receive the backups. Without it you still get a good-looking Material You gallery, just an ordinary one.
