About this app

Chess for Android is a complete chess app with nothing trying to sell you anything. Play against the built-in engine, work through Lichess puzzles and a mate-in-two collection, or set a position up by hand and study it.

It keeps a searchable database of your games, has an ECO opening explorer, and can cast the board to a Chromecast so everyone in the room can follow along. Chess 960 is supported, Duck chess is there as an experiment, and the board works with TalkBack if you use a screen reader.

If you have an account on Lichess or FICS you can play online through the app, and if you would rather use a different engine, it speaks the Open Exchange Protocol so you can plug a third-party one in.
