What it looks like
About this app
Calyx is a log book for an indoor garden. You describe your tents, add plants to them, and record what you do to each one: watering, feeding, pruning, pH and EC readings, notes. Photos go into a gallery in date order with the days since germination and the current growth phase written onto the picture.
It carries a database of 30,000 strains on the phone itself, and uses the genetics of the one you picked to work out a likely harvest window. If you run Home Assistant, Calyx reads temperature, humidity and VPD from it and lets you switch grow-room sockets on and off from inside the app; it can also watch for light leaking into a scheduled dark period and send you an alert through ntfy.
By default your records live in a database on your device. Syncing between devices is optional and needs you to run the project's Docker backend on a machine of your own, and the environment and socket features only do anything if you already have Home Assistant set up.
